My husband and I are "news-junkies" and love staying up-to-date with current events. Every morning we watch the local news stations and then the Today show while we get ready for work. When we get to work {on break, of course}, we may browse the local newspaper website or any news sites to read about current events. After work we usually watch World News with Diane Sawyer {love her} and then TMZ which gives us our fix of celebrity gossip. And don't forget 60 minutes and the times we are sucked in by stories of Dateline or Nightline. Anyone else like this?
Well, one of the stories that I've been following closely is the one of Lauren Scruggs and her recovery from an accident of walking into a plane propeller. Not only is she a beautiful person on the outside, but she's proven herself to be a beautiful person on the inside. As a model and a fashion blogger, she has used her platform to speak about her faith in God and strength to get through this tough time. Seeing her positive outlook is an inspiration to me. See her latest post below:
so (very) much thanks… January 9, 2012
i don’t know how to thank each one of you, properly, for so much love during this difficult incident in my life. my heart is so grateful beyond what i could ever imagine. so thank you dearly for the sweet encouragements, the precious words in letters and messages, the beautiful grace in pretty presents, but mostly i am so SO thankful for you and your loving hearts and sweet spirits. i wonderfully know that we are all so adored by the amazing and powerful Lord, and nothing is greater than walking in His planned-out lives. Jesus Christ is imaginably glorious and worthy of all praise even in the hardest moments. love, lo
God does have a plan for our lives.
Even in the darkest of times, lean on Him and He will provide you strength.
