a few weekends ago we were able to make one of the last trips to the beach before the weather starts to change. Georgia played at South Carolina so we had a free weekend to go down with the dogs. it was one of the best beach trips we've had because the water was crystal clear and super shallow. harlee wasn't able to attend since i flew down, but he would have loved it. i enjoyed reading magazines all weekend and as you can see, i stayed cool by sitting in the water.
adam went up to the house to make lunch and as you can see, i was pretty far out there. that's how shallow the water was.
the weather was gorgeous and there weren't many people down there.
and for once, the water was as smooth as glass- perfect for kayaking. {unlike many other times when I [almost] lost my bandeau top and [did loose my] raybans}
the Flemings just recently purchased some {amazing} art for the beach house. this one is an Allison Wickey original. her texture and colors are amazing. Some of her pieces are in a gallery in Rosemary Beach down the street and [supposedly] she dates [or did] the famous SoWal artist Justin.
who, BTW, is one of the most talented artists I know. {one day, I will own a piece of his art, christmas- adam?}
and it was an {AUBURN} sunset.
when we got home I was able to finally finish my {dresser}. the white really changed the look of it.
i liked the way it turned out. i still want to get some new hardware for it from anthropologie.
here is was before the white paint {and cute accessories}. looks much better.
i need {many} more accessories, but for now i have my snakeskin boots from when i was a young cowgirl and i found the cutest ceramic owls at Hobby Lobby...and they were 50% off.
before curtains... still a work in progress.
my cute little bedside table that no one would buy at TWObirds. i didn't care because i really didn't want to get rid of it. it's sort of an odd little table. {short and large}. our new lamp [thanks to the Medlock family] was a wedding gift. it fits this room perfectly and looks great.
above the {red} tv cabinet, I accessorized with a few additional wedding presents. i LOVE my white ZGallerie vase [thanks cousin Danielle] and the original artwork by the {oh so talented} Kelly McGinnis [thanks Erin and Cole].
remember my last post about the dropcloth curtains? here they are. i am pretty pleased with them. they were inexpensive and easy. the rod looks bent in the photo, but it isn't.
i just purchased 4 6'x9' dropcloths and sewed the rod pocket at the top along with the brown trim. because the dropcloths were already hemmed along all 4 sides, it took me little time to make them. they work for now.
i purchased the cheap rods from target, but had to spray paint them chocolate brown since they only had black.
i enjoy having a place to put my diploma now. it didn't really work in the office of {red and black}.
my parents purchased me this little ornate frame on clearance at TJMaxx. it was hot pink and i originally was going to sell it in TWObirds, but i decided to use in the room and paint it yellow. this photo is of the two of us with our whole families that attended our wedding. it means a lot to have so much love and support from these folks!
speaking of TWObirds, here are some of the latest photos of the booth. most of these are Nicole's items... she's so talented. i was helping her out and uploaded them to our Facebook page.
